Creating and maintaining an inclusive campus environment free from acts of physical and verbal violence is of the utmost importance for allowing students to pursue their academic ventures while remaining safe. To create a safe campus for all students, this Ad hoc Committee will aim to identify, understand, and address acts of hate, in all forms, against students at the University of Pittsburgh. The scope of this committee will be intentionally broad to ensure versatility in addressing pressing issues as they arise. The broad possibilities of issues discussed in committee meetings will allow the committee to address any type of topical issue existing at the University.

The Disability Resources Ad Hoc Committee aims to advocate for the needs and common goals of students with disabilities at the University of Pittsburgh. This Committee will bring the attention of the general student body and University administration to the issues and challenges regarding accessibility, in areas including, but not limited to: academic affairs, dining, housing, transportation, and general compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This Committee will work with University offices and departments to create solutions to address these issues and challenges.

Access to healthy, safe, quality food options is essential to the campus experience for Pitt students. Students continually share concerns about campus dining and frustrations with grocery access in Oakland. The Food Accessibility, Safety, and Equity (FASE) Ad Hoc committee aims to advocate for access to healthy, safe, and high-quality food options for all on- and off-campus Pitt students. Food accessibility, safety, and equity are essential to providing a quality campus experience. The FASE Ad Hoc will work to channel student feedback to key stakeholders —including Pitt Eats, Chartwells, Hospitality and Auxiliary Services—to better advocate for student food accessibility needs and long-term sustainability at Pitt.

The Athletics Committee works to advocate for and support the well-being of student-athletes across the University of Pittsburgh. The committee represents both varsity and club athletes within Student Government Board and works to identify gaps in resources, support, and opportunities available to student-athletes. The committee also works with Pitt Athletics, Campus Recreation, and other university partners to develop meaningful programs and solutions that improve the overall student-athlete experience.

The Renters First Ad Hoc Committee was created to educate student renters about tenant rights, responsibilities, and resources, increase awareness of the unaffordable, low-quality housing problem in Oakland, and advocate for policies/laws that improve the student-tenant experience.
